• The role of Accounts Payable Assistant is to provide support to Finance department by managing daily accounting tasks.
• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
• Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing account information.
• Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
• Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
• Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
• Updating accounts payable and perform reconciliations
• Examining expenses submitted by employees
• Ensure timely bank payments
• Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
• Assist with other accounting projects
• Perform work safely to protect yourself and others from injury, by avoiding any behaviour that puts yourself or others at risk.
• Follow company’s food safety, environmental and occupational health and safety policy and practices.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Qualifications (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) is a plus but not required.
• Proven experience as Accountant with minimum of 1-2 years of experience.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures.
• Data Entry Management.
• Excellent organizing abilities.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Deadline-Oriented.
