Job Title : Contracts and Commercial Director

Job Location: Dubai, UAE

We are looking for a Contracts and Commercial Director with at least 20 years of experience to lead a team of Contracts, Claims and Commercial.

Ideal candidate will be calm, confident, future oriented and mature in outlook and approach.

Requirements:

> Must have a degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying from a reputed institution.
> MRICS /FCIArb/ MCIOB /LL.M is an advantage.
> Infrastructure experience is mandatory
> Rail experience in GCC is desirable.
> Must have experience in leading contracts management, arbitration and claims from the main contractor’s perspective.
> Must have experience overseeing commercial, contracts and claims aspects of the construction in a mega project including building and infrastructure works within the GCC.

Major responsibilities:

The C&C Director will be responsible for recommending the most appropriate commercial strategy and solutions to the JV and the management in relation to contract management, claims and sub-contractor agreements.

To represent the JV in Executive meetings, Commercial, Contract and Claims meetings with the client, the engineer, and other relevant external stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities:

> Advice the management on any potential variation to the scope of work that may generate cost or time impact and present the Project Management’s assessment
> Assist the Project Director and Deputy Project Director in leading the team by assessing variations and claims and report the technical position of the proposed variation to the Client.
> Report the contracts status of the project to the Project Director & Deputy Project Director
> Manages the issues related to contracts with the employer and engineer, as well as subcontractors/vendors
> Develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration in line with the project document.
> Establish contract management system, ensure legal compliance by reviewing the contracts and by supervising contract performance.
> Guide the team in all contractual negotiations and take preventive measures to manage risks.
> Project cost control, quantities survey, project valuation and budget management.
> Prepare, review, approve and administer contracts during various stages of the process.
