The embroidery machine operator works with garments, other cloth materials, computer and embroidery machines. The operator may also have some thread cutting duties. Embroidery of company logos and designs to uniforms, hats and etc. is done by the embroidery machine operator. The embroidery machine operator is expected to be able to know how to maintain the machines, which includes applying oil and cleaning the machines so that they run smoothly. This maintenance usually has to be done on a daily basis.
This job also requires the embroidery machine operator to be able to troubleshoot the machines and escalate issues to the management, or third parties when the issue is not easily fixable. There are no minimum education requirements for this job. However, this job requires prior experience with embroidery machines or sewing. The hours for this job vary. The job is usually carried out indoors. However, it is carried out in an environment where there are multiple embroidery machines, so the area will be noisy.
