Business unit Purpose: 

To lead and manage the food photography process, ensuring the accurate visual representation of culinary standards and specifications. This role is responsible for overseeing the development of plating guides, maintaining high-quality visual documentation, and ensuring adherence to established guidelines. The Culinary Photographer collaborates with senior culinary and operational teams to enhance brand consistency, streamline workflows, and support the effective communication of culinary expectations.

 

Key Result Areas:

Manage a high volume of daily photoshoots by organizing schedules, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining efficiency to ensure the timely delivery of over 300 high-quality images per day.

Review and approve captured images to ensure they accurately represent menu products according to customer-agreed specifications for loading, serving, and presentation, maintaining consistency with operational standards.

Enhance and edit images using advanced photo editing techniques such as color correction, retouching, and post-processing to meet professional photography and visual merchandising standards.

Validate and approve image accuracy by ensuring ingredient details, equipment arrangement, and plating fully comply with customer specifications for passenger class, cabin, uplifts, and destinations, upholding quality and reliability.

Lead collaboration with Master Data and Specification teams to ensure the timely exchange of accurate information, driving seamless and up-to-date operations across Production and key stakeholders.

Review and validate master data, including item codes, bill of materials, and product specifications based on Production Chefs* inputs, ensuring food photography aligns with culinary standards.

Monitor and ensure the accurate creation and distribution of plating guides by referencing airline requirements through airline portals, supporting operational efficiency and adherence to specifications.

Coordinate and oversee the capture of specialized images and the preparation of related documentation to support unique project needs, ensuring culinary team requirements are effectively met.

Oversee and manage the distribution of captured images from meal presentations to relevant sections, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to optimize workflows and interdepartmental collaboration.

Apply advanced lighting techniques, including natural and artificial light sources such as soft boxes, diffusers, and reflectors, to achieve high-quality food photography that highlights product appeal and presentation.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Minimum Experience: 

Education Qualification: 

Bachelor*s degree or equivalent qualification. 

 

Work Experience: 

Minimum 5 years of experience in food photography, culinary-related, or visual merchandising background preferred.

Experience in Food Photography and Videography is a must.

Food Styling Expertise (knowing how to use tweezers, brushes, sprays to elevate foods appearance if required).

 

Skills: 

Proficiency in using professional-grade cameras and lenses suitable for food photography (e.g., macro lenses, prime lenses with wide apertures etc.).

Good Knowledge of Branding and Marketing principles to ensure the images align with Emirates Flight Catering*s brand identity.

Advanced understanding of visual design principles and the ability to use standard digital design tools effectively.

Familiarity with web-development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Advanced skills in photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom or any other related programs.

Demonstrate exceptional planning and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to maintain relationships with internal stakeholders
