Quantity Surveyor

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for include: Conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labour costs. Preparing, negotiating and analysing costs for tenders and contracts. Coordination of work effort. To keep a close eye on project finances and contractual relationships. They make sure that the financial position of construction projects is accurately reported and controlled effectively.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Determine impact of Drawings and Specification Changes
Assist in preparing estimates for the Employer.
Determination and agreement of Variations to the Sub-contracts.
Seek out potential variations through project correspondence and documentation and issues arising on site.
Analysis of Sub-contractor costs for Employer and domestic variations including checking measurement and application of BQ and new rates.
Prepare variation submissions and agree on variation values to the Employer’s professional team including finding the maximum return for the Contractor.
Drafting contractual correspondence and notices and ensuring they are issued on time to the Subcontractors as per the provisions of the Subcontract.

Skill Set Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Building or Construction or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
Minimum 3 years of UAE experience preferably in signage industry
Proficient with Engineering softwares such as Autocad, STAD Pro, SAP and similar softwares
A practical and logical mind and a methodical way of thinking;
A creative and innovative approach to problem solving;
Strong numeracy and financial management skills and the ability to learn sophisticated design and costing IT packages;
The ability to write clear and precise reports and to relate complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people;
Negotiation and team work skills and the ability to motivate and lead those on site;
Knowledge of past and current building and construction technology, processes, materials, business and legal matters.
