Instrument Supervisor

1. A good working knowledge of gas metering system principles of operation and maintenance.
2. Capable of preparing recertification, operation and maintenance procedures and supervising their implementation. Able to monitor and control meter system performance
3. monitors, inspects and verifies the performance of the Maintenance Contractors and their conformance to time scheduling and task completion;
4. follows-up and controls the testing of new/modified equipment, systems and machinery;
5. diagnoses faults and trends and takes or recommends appropriate corrective actions;
6. ensures that Company and statutory safety requirements are adhered to in all Maintenance activities undertaken by  Company personnel and external Contractors;
7. ensures the provision of adequate resources to carry out activities e.g. special tools and materials for the technicians and/or additional maintenance specialist support;
8. compiles, completes and submits reports and documentation, according to the required standards and at the relevant frequency;
9. contributes to the development and updating of a formal maintenance system for production facilities;
10. details approvals and work permits required prior to commencement of activities and shut-down needs;
11. ensures that subcontractor activities are carried out in accordance with the approved Subcontractor Quality Plan;
12. monitors daily progress within the area of assignment and keeps records of quantities installed;
13. inspects the quality of work on a daily basis and ensures that drawing data and specifications are adhered to;
14. keeps daily records of manpower and events and reports if manpower levels affect programs;
15. Supervises measurement personnel to assure an efficient, economical and safe operation in adherence with company policies and governmental regulations while providing good customer service and public relations. Plans, schedules, assigns, directs, and supervises all measurement work including resource allocation and priority determination
16. Responsible for maintenance, testing, validation and proving at metering facilities in compliance with company policy and procedures and in compliance with international regulation
17. Familiar with all relevant IP, API, AGA, BS and ISO standards and code of practice
18. Experienced in the preparation of specification for metering system equipment and instrument
19. Develops plans for metering system maintenance, testing, validation and proving and provides reports
20. Provides technical support for measurement, pressure, monitor and flow control systems and programs. Develops and or assists in designs for measurement, regulator and other control systems primarily for natural gas applications. Assists with customer support as required.
21. Serves as a point of customer contact for custody transfer gas volumes, gas quality and gas measurement requirements; analyzes and trends electronic flow and gas quality information; performs gas volume estimates; and maintains meter/station data and validation rules within gas measurement system. Provides for accurate and timely gas measurement data and assists in resolving discrepancies.
22. Utilizes various electronic tools and reports to identify potential erroneous measured volumes and Btu and works with others to correct such data for the Interstate Pipelines.
23. Programs, certifies operation and tests Electronic Gas Measurement (field instrument, flow computers and Remote Terminal Units) used by the Company’s System Control and Gas Measurement departments. Supports implementation of gas measurement equipment in field operations, including onsite configuration and installation of equipment for data-collection, monitoring and communication systems.
24. To liaise with maintenance and stores personal on detailed stock levels, and request for additional replenishing of existing spares
25. Carrying out of measurement quantity and quality system equipment and data audits / inspections / surveys to check compliance with relevant standards

Experience Required
Professional experience: Minimum 7 years Leadership/Supervisory: 3 years in similar position
Education and Qualifications Required
Degree in Instrumentation / Electronic / Metering Engineering.
