User Experience Designer

Visier is looking for a creative, engaging user experience person to join our growing team!

The opportunity:

Visier is leading a revolution in analytics and planning. We are taking the market by storm by changing how people think about business intelligence.

We’re a young company and we want someone who defines himself or herself as a leader. You’ll be surrounded by like-minded people eager to build this company together and make it the best place we’ve ever worked. If you like startup culture and are eager to make your mark then Visier is the place for you.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll translate requirements into UX research into workflows, wireframes, and finally pixel-perfect mock-ups to articulate your vision. You’ll be supported in your work with a top-notch design and development team that has already been successful in launching our initial products to market. Visier provides a great balance between support and challenge – everyone is excited to help you learn AND we expect everyone to be proactive in managing their output to be the best it can be.

About you:

You are excited to create new ways to interact with everyday things. You constantly see examples of old, tired design paradigms and think about how you could make them better! You’re looking for a company that is forward-thinking in its design, yet has a proven business model and successful product.

You have a strong visual-design background and you should possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, but most importantly be able to demonstrate how you’ve taken your vision and made it real. You’ll need excellent knowledge of user-centric design methodologies and be excited to tell us your take on the research and thinking in this space. You’ll already have experience developing wireframe prototypes, creating high-fidelity software mock-ups, ideally using Adobe design tools and have excellent experience with CS Illustrator.

What our ideal looks like:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 3+ years of related experience
    Excellent knowledge user-centric design methodologies
Experience with user interface conventions and UI pattern driven design
Experience with wireframe prototyping as well as creating high-fidelity mockups
Strong visual design background. Experience with Adobe design tools, excellent knowledge of CS Illustrator
Experience running usability tests and doing user interviews
Exposure to business intelligence, analytics software, and data visualization is a strong asset
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-starter with excellent attention to details and a passion for creating innovative, usable, and beautiful software!

Great to haves:

It would be great if you have exposure to the business intelligence software space and have an analytical mind with a passion for data visualization. Making the complex simple and clear is a key skill.
