Purchase Officer

Job summary
The Purchaser is responsible for coordinating all purchase on behalf of the organization, as
directed by sales staff and management.
Summary of essential job functions
- Send enquiries to local and international suppliers
- Follow up enquiries to suppliers
- Arrange shipment from international suppliers
- Arrange driver for pick up from local suppliers
- Responsible to provide support for purchasing functions; performs clerical functions which
include sending material inquiries, prepares delivery notes, purchase orders, data entry,
coordinate with material suppliers; performs other duties as needed
- To negotiate with suppliers in the market to include in the lists of approved materials
supplier
- Maintain a list of preferred suppliers
- Develop, implement and administer policies, procedures and methods by which the
Company’s supplier base is managed to insure the timely availability of component
materials and purchased end items consistent with quality, cost and inventory parameters
- Continuously review component and finished goods manufacturing techniques for quality
and manufacturing enhancements and efficiencies as well as cost efficiencies
- Prepare landed cost information (for international supplier)
- Prepare LPO and IPO; Performs data entry for converting departmental requisitions to
purchase orders, assists the procurement department and other duties as assigned Follow LPO and IPO
- Files requisition copies and miscellaneous material; mails purchase orders; interacts with
accounts payable personnel to resolve purchasing questions
- Coordinate with store custodian for materials availability
- Other administrative work from time to time
