Facilitate laboratory testing of material with respect to the prevailing standard and codes. (BS Standard, ASTM or any other standards that may be required by the Contract)
Will be full in charge of the laboratory; supervise lab technicians in facilitating tests made in the lab.
Assist the consultant’s material engineer, concerning material handling, sampling and coordination with independent labs.
Evaluate and approve of test report, test certificate and other test documents submitted.
Monitor and witness all tests conducted, inspection of temporary and permanent materials in compliance with the specification requirements
Physical checking / inspection of all the materials arriving at site in compliance with the specification requirements.
Responsible for the quality and efficiency of the site laboratory, coordinate in all aspect of material testing and monitoring,
Liaise with the Department’s Laboratories to ensure their involvement is maintained as required.
Monitor and control the quality of the asphalt plant and subcontractor’s concrete production prior to delivery to the site.
Enforced the requirements and frequent testing as stipulated in the specification and advise the Project Manager on any problem concerning the sampling and testing of soil and other materials.
Constantly review laboratory analysis and test results and make any changes necessary to ensure accurate results are obtained yet keeping standards are maintained.
Coordinate with the Senior Laboratory Technician to cover peak testing demand on different aspects of the site work.
Supervise the construction works at site such as compaction tests, concrete mix testing, road marking in compliance with the project requirements.
