IT Technician

Job description and Duties:
• Installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems and applications.
• Monitoring and proactively maintaining computer systems and networks.
• Replacing parts as required.
• Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or
software faults.
• Responding within agreed time limits to call-outs.
• Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate).
• Talking staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues.
• Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with colleagues, customers and other
professionals, such as software developers.
• Setting up new users’ accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues.
• Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports.
• Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system.
• Supporting the roll-out of new applications or updates.
• Testing and evaluating new technology.
• Maintaining documentation and hardware/software registers.
• Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.).
• Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality.
• Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance.
• Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
• Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
• Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work.
• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.).
• Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule.
• Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders.
• Maintain and Troubleshoot CCTV.
Requirements:
Candidates should have minimum of 5 years of UAE or Gulf Region experience in a similar role is desirable. Interested applicants should hold a Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma or equivalent qualification, preferably Filipino. The ideal candidate would have proficiency in English with a professional personality, excellent interpersonal skills, and outstanding communication skills both written and oral.
