Job
This position will assist in maximizing the value derived from the University’s systems through the development of applications used to enhance functionality, improve efficiencies, and promote the effectiveness of the University staff. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: designing, developing and implementing software solutions that integrate with the University’s Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP system) And Student Information System (SIS System)
Job Responsibilities
Understanding of the product from both a functional and technical perspective, including a comprehensive understanding of the implementation methodologies for the technology being utilized in product development, such as .NET or Java Framework.
Analyze, design, develop and refine programming code for new software development and product enhancements based on requirements specification.
Execute thorough software testing and quality assurance.
Correct errors by making appropriate changes and rechecking the program to ensure that the desired results are produced.
Instigate code and documentation reviews.
Conduct trial runs of programs and software applications.
Designs and builds product deliverable according to specifications escalates technical design or specification issues
Diagnoses and repairs software problems or bugs and assists clients with technical problems and helps to resolve those problems.
Confer with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs. Resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls.
Convey concepts and ideas to both technical and functional team members in a clear and concise manner in an effort to provide a common understanding of complex subject matter.
Continued knowledge acquisition of new and emerging technologies in an effort to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the solutions we provide to our user community.
Free Thinker who can suggest ways to improve our solutions while at the same time can provide clear and concise reasoning to back up their position.
Mentor staff by leveraging previous experiences and relating them to current issues.
Assess software problems or business process issues and determine suitable programming solutions.
General Conditions:
•Priority shall be given (in order) to nationals of the United Arab Emirates, GCC nationals, and other expats.
•Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience (Software Engineer),
•Good knowledge and experience in ORACLE technology (SQL, PL /SQL, forms & reports), PHP & Java.
•Proficiency in both Arabic and English language, spoken and written.
•Strong communication skills, courteous and people friendly personality.
•Ability to handle multiple assignments/projects.
