Lighting Sales Executive

What you’ll need to succeed
An Electrical sales background is essential for this role, ideally in lighting sales or Electrical product sales. Knowledge and/or contacts within the Electrical wholesale market would be highly advantageous. You are a true hunter with a high level of technical aptitude, with that key ability to open doors, find out information and build relationships. This role requires a self starter, who can work remotely and manage a territory and their time effectively. We are looking for people that are serious and driven to hit budgets and targets and reap the financial rewards.
Job
You will be responsible for cold and warm face-to-face meetings with new clients and prospects.
• It is a role that will require extensive knowledge of the product.
• You will form consultative sales relationships with key accounts and foster these for long-term benefit and be responsible for passing enquirers onto the Internal Sales Team as appropriate.
• You will be expected to attend to leads in a proactive manner, record the results and prepare information for the line manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Contact and develop prospective and existing clients.
• Maintain professional standards of appearance, manner, discipline and work.
• To work to the activity targets set prospecting for new clients.
• To take incoming calls from prospective and existing clients.
• To follow up on any inquiries in a timely manner.
• To keep abreast of all new products.
• To provide any technical advice and information as requested.
• To arrange for the correct literature and technical information is sent out as requested.
• To up date the sales database and ensure quotation logs are kept up dated.
• To ensure that all existing customers in your remit are contacted regularly maintaining company profile and develop relationships with key clients.
• Ensure that the activity targets set for proactive sales are achieved.
• Produce reports as directed/requested.
• Ensure colleagues are up dated with relevant information and feedback is constructive.
• Compliance with Company Policies and Company Health and Safety procedures.

Resume Keyword Practices to Avoid
We’ve established that using resume keywords throughout your application boosts your chances of a human hiring manager seeing it.
However, be careful not to overdo it.
Packing your resume full of keywords is almost as bad as not including any at all.
Don’t forget that a real person will (hopefully) see your resume at some point. So use natural language that engages that person.
Tip
Make sure you balance hard skills vs soft skills on your resume to show you’re a rounded candidate.
Otherwise, they’ll think you’re either a bad writer — which indicates your communication skills aren’t good — or assume you’re trying to beat the ATS, making you seem dishonest.

 

Keyword Stuffing
Keyword stuffing refers to using the same keyword again and again in an unnatural way to get your resume past the ATS.
People engage in keyword stuffing because some ATS software gives applications a higher ranking when it detects a keyword is used more. For instance, an ATS might assign a higher score to a candidate who mentions “search engine optimization” six times over one who mentions it three times.
Here’s an example of how one applicant tried to stuff the keyword “customer satisfaction” in their resume:
