Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator

Job Summary Quantity surveyors manage and plan all costs associated with all types of construction projects, from pre-tender and post-tender until completion.
PRE-TENDER:
•Prepare cost analysis based on the architectural drawings, engineering estimates, materials required and labour involved
•Prepare cost plans to enable design teams to produce practical designs for construction projects, which involves liaising with architects, engineers and subcontractors.
•Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
•Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors and, where appropriate, negotiate with the contractors.
•Review scope of work to be included in a tender and arrange for the required information.
•Coordinate with Consultant for any discrepancies and clarification for scope of works, specifications & drawings in tender documents for raising RFPs
•Coordinating with Sub-contractors and Suppliers for clarification of submitted specifications and drawings.
•Floating, coordinating and overview of Sub-contractors/Supplier enquiries and follow up.
•Prepares Bill of Quantities.
•Prepares value Engineering recommendations to meet Client’s/Consultant’s requirements
QUANTITY TAKE OFF:
• Receive and verify the soft and hard copies of tender documents as per list and content sheets of specification and drawings .
• Identify the scope of work pertaining to the tender and prepare Brief Tender Summary
• Scrutinize the plan (drawings and supporting documents from clients) and perform quantity take off.
• To co-ordinate with superiors to discuss the take off and get clarifications for discrepancies in tender drawings vs specifications.
• Differentiating and assigning documents (Drawings/Specification/B.O.Q) required for Subcontractors & Suppliers.
•Preparation of Bills of Quantity as per specification and Drawings.
PRICING:
• Coordination with Quantity Surveyors to prepare comparison statements regarding prices of Sub-contractors and Suppliers for various trades and identify the risks related to price deviations.
• Performs pricing of complete tender in co-ordination with Estimation Manager.
• Drafting and finalization of Tender Submission Letter, Qualifications and Clarifications with consultation of Estimation Manager.
• finalize the Dry Cost and submission of tender as per Client’s/Consultant’s requirements by providing recommendations on selection of subcontractors.
