A multi-national construction company looking for a Project HSSE Manager with 10 to 15 years of experience in the Middle East for their project in Jebel Ali, Dubai.
Requirements:
1. Educational background: HSE related diploma.
2. Work experience: minimum 10 years (the candidate should have 3 to 4 years experience in a managerial role).
3. Special skills: OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor certification.
4. The candidate must have experience dealing with marine construction and heavy civil/infrastructure (such as bridges) projects.
Key activities:
1. Coordinate the activities of any Health & Safety Advisors (project) under their control.
2. Offer support and guidance in the development of Health & Safety Advisors (project) under their control.
3. Monitor the adequacy of incident investigation and reporting.
4. Arrange for the provision of advice and assistance in the coordinators duties in local legislation when BAM International is so appointed on any contract relating to the project.
5. Ensure that assistance is provided to project management in the preparation of project safety management plans.
6. Ensure that all project-related contracts are provided with the relevant statutory health and safety documentation.
7. Attend arranged safety meetings with the BAM International safety department.
8. Collate incident and man-hours worked data for the project and send weekly reports to the area and corporate safety department.
9. Ensure that examples of best practice are recorded and issued to the BAM International safety department.
10. Undertake regular inspections of the project site, project office(s) and depots on the project and report findings to site management and the Health & Safety Manager (area).
11. Undertake safety awareness audits, as requested by the Health & Safety Manager (area) or Corporate Health & Safety Manager, accompanied by a member of the safety department.
12. Regularly liaise with joint venture partners safety representatives.
13. Provide advice on medical and occupational health matters and monitor arrangements.
14. Ensure that all documents issued by the safety department are distributed to appropriate personnel and are acted upon.
