About the Role:
The main purpose of this role is to assist in the preparation and/or modification of curriculum/lesson plans (to make them individualized), reports, academic materials, accommodations and modifications and ensure that all client related materials are maintained and organized.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement techniques based on Applied Behavior Analysis in the school and classroom school settings. Implement structured and individualized treatment programs designed by a Clinical Supervisor, including but not limited to Behavior Plans (BSPs) and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to teach children language, play, social, self-help, and academic skills, thereby reducing the occurrence of maladaptive behaviors. Facilitate social interaction to help establish and maintain successful peer relationships. Support the classroom teacher in managing children’s behavior and modifying the learning environment. Facilitate functional independence by fading in and out when necessary. Collect data and maintain documentation pertaining to each child’s program. Participate in clinical meetings, workshops, and training seminars as necessary. Communicate questions, child’s progress, or other feedback to supervisory staff. Adhere to Director, Clinical Supervisor, Case Manager and School Support Advisor clinical treatment recommendations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology / Education. Previous experience in teaching and working with children with special needs is desirable. However, if you have a passion for working with children and/or are a graduate student looking for hands on experience you are welcome to apply.
