TimberWest Forest Corp. has an immediate opening for a Junior Accountant based in our Nanaimo Office and reporting to the South Island Operations Accountant.
The Junior Accountant will be a key member of the Timberland finance group. Responsibilities include accounts payable and receivable, filing and assisting with contract administration, reconciliations, PST compliance, preparation of month-end working papers, variance analysis, business process improvement and special projects. The successful candidate will be a team player and a quick learner who takes a proactive approach to their work.
Technical Requirements include:
- Enrollment in a program leading to a professional accounting designation
- Three to five years accounting experience
- Strong interpersonal, analytical and time management skills with a high attention to detail
- Exceptional skills working on both large computer applications and spreadsheet based applications in a Microsoft Office environment
Forest Industry experience and familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics AX accounting software and 3Log software would be assets.
