Senior Director of Data & Analytics Engineering
Job Description:
Mobidia's Senior Director of Data & Analytics Engineering is responsible for establishing the company’s technical vision and strategic roadmap for our cloud-based big-data mobile analytics platform and ultimately responsible for our platform infrastructure (built on AWS), services, scalability, and long term evolution and growth.
Responsibilities:
• Design, architect and develop scalable cloud-based big-data databases and services that align with product and business requirements
• Lead end-to-end efforts to innovate and ship big data platforms and services that scale and exceed performance and cost targets
• Interface closely with engineering and product management teams to build and evolve our AWS platform, EDW, ETL, APIs, and BI/Reporting frameworks
Requirements:
• Proven and demonstrated AWS platform experience and expertise
• Ability to work across teams to develop and execute our cloud-based big-data and reporting roadmap
• Contribute and drive our architecture and development of large-scale data storage system that continuously supports the rapid reporting and massive usage and scale
• Strong proficiency in cloud infrastructure, Linux, Data services & integration, Java, Python, Ruby, and familiarity with open source technologies like Tomcat, Hadoop and MySQL
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong "team-first" player
• 10+ years in DBA/EDW and cloud/big-data hands-on technical leadership roles
• BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
• MBA, start-up experience and iOS/Android development experience is a plus.
